The swords of those figures hit the light shield, and upon contact, those figures liquefied and merged back into the black liquid below, disappearing without a trace.

Wilbur's heart raced as he looked down at his feet. A small circular piece of black liquid, severed by the Dragon's Safehaven, began to rapidly evaporate, turning into gas. It then gradually transformed into white steam in mid-air, condensing and falling to the ground as clear groundwater.
