Marshall watched intently from the balcony across the street, observing the situation. When he saw Johnson move toward the corner, a smirk played on his lips. He assumed Johnson had seen him and was feeling embarrassed, hence the retreat into hiding.
At this moment, Marshall felt a surge of pride. Maria, who had once been his dream woman, was finally his. Originally, she had been Huck's woman, but now she was his. With the prospect of two hundred million just within reach, Marshall believed this was a golden opportunity bestowed by fate.
Once the deal was sealed and the two hundred million transferred, Marshall planned to take Maria and leave Moda immediately, heading to the Allied States. He even imagined scenes of Maria changing diapers for their children in their new life there.
As a victor, Marshall did not want to waste any more time on Johnson. The day's rampage had sealed Johnson's fate. He had killed far too many people, and the authorities of Moda would not let him off. But Marshall no longer cared about Johnson's future.
Without delay, Marshall picked up his phone and called Johnson again. As he brought the phone to his ear and looked up at the balcony across the street, suddenly, the Satan Robot leaped from the balcony and lunged toward the building where Marshall was standing.
In an instant, terror washed over Marshall's face and his phone slipped from his grasp. According to his calculations, the Satan Robot should have exhausted its power by now. Marshall believed that Johnson could no longer operate it.
He planned to confirm the transfer of the two hundred million, then leave the activation metal behind and escape. However, Marshall had not anticipated that the Satan Robot still had some energy left. Johnson had planned an escape route, while Marshall had stupidly believed Johnson's bluff.
"Damn it, I've been tricked!"
Realizing the danger, Marshall turned to flee, but it was too late. Johnson had already maneuvered the Satan Robot into the corridor. He raised the machine gun arm and aimed it at Marshall, growling, "Don't move, or I'll spray you with bullets."
"Please, I surrender! Don't kill me!"
Marshall placed the activation metal on the ground, raised his hands slowly, and turned to face the Satan Robot. He knew that if he did not surrender, Johnson would surely shoot him. Surrendering now might give him a slim chance of survival.
