Living With My Lady Boss by Blue Silver novel Chapter 2374

After Judith's grandmother was done revealing that information to Wilbur, she returned to her room. Judith came out of the kitchen after cleaning up and chuckled at the sight of Wilbur standing frozen in place. "Want to go for a walk?"

"W-What? Oh, yeah, sure. I was just thinking of doing that."

Judith disappeared into her grandmother's room for a short while and then came out to go downstairs with Wilbur. They strolled along the neighborhood, and Wilbur asked, "Where's that pearl you found, Judith?"

"I traded it for money, then donated it to charity," Judith replied.

"Why didn't you leave some of it for yourself? I'm not saying you have to live lavishly, but you should at least have enough for a more comfortable life with your grandma."

Judith shrugged at the words. "You're a good man, Mister Penn, but Grandma said that this is just our fate. We aren't fated for the lavish life. Using the money made from the Dragon Eye will only result in our bad karma."

"Bad karma?"

Wilbur frowned. "Do you think it could just be a placebo? Maybe your grandmother's used to living this way, and thus thinks it's the life she's destined to have, but the truth is that you're more than capable of getting yourselves better lives. Don't you think so?"

Judith shook her head but said nothing. The two of them walked past a clothing store, and Judith was drawn to a beautiful dress in the window. She pressed her nose against the glass, staring at it with glowing eyes.
