Adela muttered a spell, and a pillar of black flames shot out of the Ebony Phoenix to wrap around Wilbur. Augheimer's eyes grew bloodshot as he shouted, "No, no!"

Ramont grabbed Augheimer. "Don't go over there. It's too late for anything now. We'll just have to leave it up to fate."

"This is all my fault, Wilbur! I shouldn't have done this!"

Augheimer broke down into sobs all of a sudden. Just then, the black flames were put out as Wilbur emerged, radiating the same white glow all over.

"I'm not dead yet, Augheimer," said Wilbur. "I promised you I'd help you finish this, didn't I?"

Wilbur leaped into the air, flying toward the Ebony Phoenix. Adela was furious to see this, and shouted, "What are you doing, you bastard? Come back!"

Yet Wilbur had already reached the phoenix, touching it with his hands. The Ebony Phoenix began to shrink instantly. Before long, it was completely absorbed by Wilbur and turned into his energy.

Wilbur landed on the ground, glowering at Adela as he roared, "Now you can have all your power back!"

He released his dragon aura, channeling the power of the Ebony Phoenix into a black dragon. It let out a cry of fury, charging toward Adela.
