Sammy seemed so embarrassed to the point that she was about to cry. She said in a pitiful tone, “Please forgive me, sir. I was ignorant. I’ve had it rough for the past few years. Please help me. I’m willing to pay anything.” 

To be honest, she could not handle an unsuccessful career, constant bad luck, and constantly falling over while walking. Paying him was the least she could do. 

She finally met someone who seemed so powerful, so she was not willing to give up. She would do anything to convince him to help her. 

Wilbur looked at her and said slowly, “I’m sorry, but I never help someone who gives me the cold shoulder. Please leave.” 

Sammy instantly panicked because Wilbur wanted her to leave. 

She knelt in front of him and cried. She said, “Please help me, sir. I’ve been absolutely down on my luck. I’m going crazy from this torment.” 

She could handle an unsuccessful career even though it was bringing her down. 

However, the constant bad luck weighed on her mental health. Her depression was getting worse too. She was afraid that she would end her life one day. 

Wilbur frowned and said, “It’s no use. I have my boundaries.” 

Sammy felt an incredible despair upon hearing that. Tears streamed down her face, she felt nothing but darkness in her life. 

Suddenly, someone opened his bedroom door. Faye walked into the room. 

She was instantly surprised by the sight before her. She asked, “What’s happening?” 

She could not believe the person kneeling there was Sammy. Faye hurriedly helped her up and said, Sammy, let’s talk it out. Don’t do this.” 

“Faye, do you know him? Please convince him to help me,” begged Sammy. 

Faye instantly felt sympathy for Sammy. She said, “Please help her if you can. Just look at her.” 

“I tried to help her, but she did not accept my offer,” said Wilbur nonchalantly. 

Faye looked at Sammy and asked, “What happened?” 

Sammy sat on the sofa. She was so ashamed that she did not speak. 

She looked down on Wilbur back then, so she was too ashamed to speak. 

Suddenly, she had an idea. She quickly said, “Sir, you like antiques, right? I have a family heirloom which is 

a jade statue. My parents said it’s older than a thousand years.” 

Wilbur was moved upon hearing that. He said, “I may consider helping you if it proves useful.” 

He was unwilling to help Sammy for free because of her bad attitude. However, he could help her in exchange for a sacrifice. A sacrifice was not easy to find, after all. 

“I have a photo right here. Please have a look.” Sammy noticed a glimmer of hope, so she hurriedly took out her phone and searched for the photo, then passed it to Wilbur. 

Wilbur accepted the phone and looked at the photo. It was a photo of a jade statue. The jade was smooth and of good quality. The luster and color were excellent, and it was well–carved too. It looked well–aged.

He nodded and said slowly, “It looks good, but I’ll have to see it in person to know if it’s useful.” 

He did not want it as a collection. He wanted it as a sacrifice instead. 

The sacrifice he made must contain some sort of energy. He had to inspect the item in person before he 

could decide. 

Sammy hurriedly said, “I’ll have someone send it over right away.” 

“We’ll see,” he said nonchalantly.
