Chapter 294
However, Sammy said with certainty, “I didn’t lie to you. I wouldn’t believe it myself if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes.”
Suddenly, her phone rang. She noticed it was an unknown number, and she was not in the mood, so she tossed her phone to the side.
Dom hurriedly asked, “What if it was a call from the authorities? Maybe they found the jade statue. Hurry up and answer it.”
Sammy had a sudden realization and hurriedly answered the call.
“Sammy?”
“Sir?”
“Come to Sealake Island. I’ve decided to help you.”
“Really? Thank you, sir! I’ll be right there.”
Sammy hung up. She cried out of joy and said, “He’s willing to help me!”
Dom hurriedly said, “Let’s go, then. We wouldn’t want him to wait.”
He saw how unlucky she had been over the past few years and felt bad for his sister.
However, there was nothing he could do. He genuinely felt happy for her because she looked happy.
Dom wished that Wilbur was truly as miraculous as his sister described.
Their family heirloom was worth a fortune, after all.
They arrived at the hotel lobby. Sammy suddenly twisted her ankle and fell on the floor, crying out in pain.
“What happened?” Dom hurriedly helped her up, asking in a distressed tone.
Sammy cried and said, “I’m so unlucky. I twisted my ankle again.”
Twisted ankles, head injuries, and burnt hands were common occurrences for Sammy, happening almost on a monthly basis. She was extremely unlucky.
“I’ll carry you.” Dom sighed and carried his sister on his back to the parking lot. He placed her in the car and drove toward Sealake Island.
They arrived at Sealake Island soon. Dom supported her all the way to the bridge. Charles was notified a long time ago, so he allowed them entry and led them to Wilbur’s room.
They knocked on the door before entering the room, and they bowed when they saw Wilbur
Wilbur looked at Sammy’s brother and asked, “And this is?”
“Sir, this is my brother, Dom Shandon. He’s here to deliver the jade statue, but it got stolen,” said Sammy with tears in her eyes.
“Hey, look at what I have here.” Wilbur pointed at the jade statue on the table and laughed.
They were instantly dumbfounded. Dom ran toward the jade statue and inspected it carefully. It was indeed their family heirloom.
“H–How did it get here?” asked Sammy in a surprised tone.
Wilbur smiled and said, “It’s a gift from someone. I knew it was yours, so I called you to come over.”
