Declan knew he had to give in. He could no longer afford to interfere with this matter.
His frown instantly transformed into a smile and shook hands with Matt in a friendly manner, saying. "I see. So, you're Mister Lilith. You should've told me sooner and this misunderstanding wouldn't have gotten out of hand. Look…"
"Thank you for doing this for my sake, Mister Young. It's not a big deal. We can just resolve it amicably," said Matt nonchalantly.
He was pressured and undermined by the Owen clans. However, he was still a major influential figure out there. Ordinary people could not afford to mess with him. Declan was only in charge of a district, which he did not pay any attention to.
Declan understood the implications of what Matt said. He hurriedly said, "Why, of course. I have some business to attend to, so please resolve it among yourselves. I'll be taking my leave."
Declan left with his secretary without looking back after he said that.
Wade was dumbfounded. He stood there in a daze, not knowing what to do.
His best bet fled the scene and abandoned him. What was he supposed to do?
Declan was gone, so he could not afford to mess with James, let alone Matt Lilith.
Offending Matt was out of the question for him. Matt was not just a businessman. Someone from his clan was also a government official. On top of that, Matt himself was also a mafia boss. Wade would be doomed if he was unfortunate enough to offend Matt.
Wade thought of that and threw his dignity out the window. He hurriedly bowed at Matt and apologized, "Mister Lilith, I didn't know Mister Chuke was your friend. I'm really sorry. I sincerely apologize to Mister Chuke."
"Sorry? Did you think this could be solved with just a mere apology?" sneered James.
Wade looked awkward. He asked, "What do you want me to do, Mister Chuke? I'll do as you say."
He had to give in because they were more powerful.
"Kneel and lick my shoes clean and I'll forget about this," said James coldly.
Wade's expression turned dark. That was too humiliating.
