Burials in a village would usually seal the coffin shut under multiple layers, and then be buried with fine soil. The grave would be sealed tight, and it was normal for the body to be well preserved for several decades. However, it was abnormal for the corpse to be covered in blood like that. How could a decades-old corpse still have blood on it?"

Wilbur leaned in closer to the coffin and took a whiff, then said, "This is not human blood."

Ryder also tried smelling it and said, "It smells like a mix of chicken and dog blood."

Wilbur thought about it and said, "Someone's playing tricks with the corpse."

"What do you mean, sir?" Ryder asked.

Wilbur replied, "Someone's controlling the corpse, and then smeared it with blood to scare Yanfren. This is a scam to get money."

"That's possible. They did ask for cash to be dropped off behind the gravestone. Why would a ghost need cash?" Ryder commented.

Wilbur nodded in agreement. "You're right. However, that person was able to control corpses. He's definitely a cultivator."
