Living With My Lady Boss by Blue Silver novel Chapter 626

Obviously, Whitney was still oblivious to all of this and did not know that she was now known for being a walking jinx.

She was smirking to herself smugly, wondering just how Wilbur was getting taught a fine lesson right then.

Meanwhile, Wilbur was actually shaking his head at Steve before turning to Victor who lowered his head at once.

Wilbur said, "You did the right thing in the end, so they won't be firing you. However, you're still going to be punished. I hope you've learned your lesson."

"I will, Sir." Victor's expression was one of helplessness and regret.

He had failed to uphold his values as a government official, letting power get in the way of him acting justly. For that, he deserved to be punished.

Faron said, "Victor Myre, report to the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection tomorrow. Someone will handle you."

"Yes, sir. I'll be there on time for sure," Victor said, hanging his head.

Elsa looked at Steve with a chuckle. "You can show up at the Special Forces department on your own. Someone will take care of you, and I'd start praying for a clean record if I were you."

Steve's heart practically fell into his stomach. What good could come out of a trip to the Special Forces Department?

Yet he had no choice now. Neither he nor his father was nearly as powerful as Elsa and Faron. In fact, they could hardly compare.

"Yes, ma'am. I'll head there right this second," Steve said, his expression creased in distress.

Elsa waved a hand, and Steve slumped off to the Special Forces department. Victor left silently as well, preparing himself to report to the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection early next morning.

The old woman and her family had long since fled the scene. They knew that there was no getting their way here, or they might actually end up in jail if they were to insist on kicking up a fuss. What they were most afraid of, however, was the confiscation of their pensions. That was truly ruthless.

Wilbur watched as they left and could not help but let out a sigh.
