Wilbur glared at Whitney. "You might think I'm lying, but I think you're a joke."
"What did you just say to me?" Whitney could hardly believe her ears. Was this liar calling her a joke?
Wilbur's expression turned cold. "You're a student, but instead of focusing on your studies, you run around trying to find a rich husband to settle down with like nothing else matters more than money. People like you don't have any values, nor do you have the right to comment on others."
Whitney froze in her tracks, turning red as a beetroot as her expression turned from shock to humiliation, morphing as she flared up in fury.
She could hardly believe it, a nobody talking down to her like this.
Whitney felt like someone just poured a bucket of icy water over her, tainting her beauty in a matter of seconds.
She exploded at last, roaring, "What right do you have to say that to me, Wilbur? Who the hell do you think you are, huh? So what if money's important to me, everyone in this world's after money! What's wrong with what I've done, huh?"
Whitney was doing her best to prove that she did nothing wrong, and began arguing against Wilbur, someone she thought of as utter garbage.
Yet Wilbur merely smirked. "It's not wrong to chase money, but only if you get it with hard work, instead of relying on your looks, positioning yourself around the nearest rich man you can find. From the way you're selling yourself, you're no different from a hooker."
"You…"
Whitney had not expected Wilbur to have the nerve to say such a thing.
The words struck her like a violent blow, making her face burn with humiliation as if she had been stripped naked and left on the street. She pointed a shaking finger at Wilbur but could not get a word out.
Shelby, Yasmine, and Celine were also shocked by Wilbur's words.
They all knew that Whitney cared too much about money and was also ruthless in her ways.
But how was she going to recover from being humiliated like this, with how prideful she was known to be?
