Wilbur saw this but merely smiled before turning away to follow the server up to the second floor.
The server pushed one of the doors open with a smile. "This is our cleanest room here, sir."
Wilbur peered inside.
It looked to be something you would pay below a hundred bucks for in Dasha. It was acceptable, at the very least.
He nodded.
Just then, the server batted her lashes at Wilbur. "Do you need any other services, sir? I'm really, really good." She leaned into Wilbur, pushing her chest against his arm.
Wilbur took out two bills, stuffing them into the server's pocket with a smile. "I'm fine, thank you."
"I'll make you feel good, sir. None of those idiots downstairs have ever gotten this special treatment before," said the server.
Wilbur smiled. "No, I'm really alright."
"Okay." The server looked a little disappointed. As she turned to leave, she said, "Sir, you should keep the door locked if you're on your own. It's safer that way."
"Got it. Thank you."
The server shrugged, leaving with a look of wistfulness on her face.
Wilbur snorted to himself. He closed the door and sat down on the bed, beginning to meditate.
Later that night, the inn was dead quiet.
The drunkards had all gone home, except for the man white beard and his friends. They came to the second floor, each one of them holding a weapon.
"Are you sure we should be doing this, Tulu?" said one of the blokes.
Tulu was the name of the bearded man. He glowered at the man who spoke. "Foreign man here on his own with all that money? We'd regret it for the rest of our lives if we let him go."
"You're right," another man said, nodding profusely.
"What are we gonna say to Boss though?"
Tulu sneered. "I'll give him some money to shut him up. You can f*ck off if you don't want to do this."
"Yeah, Kula. The guy looks like he'll cry one punch in, you're more than welcome to stay out of this. All the more for us," someone else piped up.
