Just as the car was about to hit her, a person yanked her aside.
The car drove past them and soon disappeared.
“Ms. Rowan, it’s not worth it to seek death because of a man.” The one who had saved her was the driver Donny, “If you leave, who will take care of your grandmother?”
The dazed Clara came back to her senses, yes, what would grandma do if she left?
Soon, a car drove by. Donny opened the back door and asked her to get in. “My boss wants to see you. He can give you anything you need.”
“He can give me what I want, but what can I give him back?” Clara laughed miserably.
She was not stupid. She didn’t think that the man had unintentionally claimed her innocence and would unconditionally help her all the time.
She was now notorious and had nothing.
She hugged her arms and whispered, “Thank you for saving me and thank your boss. However, I don’t want to lose the last bit of dignity I have.”
Seeing her reaction, Donny passed her a business card “Ms. Rowan, this is my phone number. If you need it, you can call me.”
“Okay.” Then taking the business card, she turned around and left.
Donny returned to Preston Village, and when he saw Ethan Preston, he passed on Clara’s original words and added, “Sir, that car was heading directly towards Ms. Rowan.”
Ethan’s eyes sank. “Check it out and send someone to keep an eye on her safety.”
That woman’s dignity should be worn down.
............
Clara Rowan went to the hospital.
Grandma had been lying in the hospital ever since her last cardiac arrest and had soon been able to remove her breathing mask.
Although she couldn’t get out of bed, her mental state was much better.
