Lost Me, Gained Regret (Jane and Bryant Ferguson) novel Chapter 896

"You know you need it, no need to thank me."

"......"

Quentin noticed his gift being unclaimed but remained unfazed. He turned to Christine, "You can handle this however you see fit, as long as it's done well. I'll have my assistant send you some pointers."

Christine bowed slightly, "Thank you for your trust."

Quentin needed to greet other guests and said to Dailey, "Take Christine for some food, and later we can head upstairs for a card game."

"And by the way, let Duke Northwood stay and join us for a bit. There are some folks he might work with later, so it's a good chance to introduce him."

Duke Northwood was too excited to speak, so Christine thanked Quentin on his behalf.

Once Quentin left, Christine gave Duke a gentle pat on the back.

"Come on, Duke! Don't be shy. I might not know much about traditional Western crafts, but you need to showcase your strengths."

Duke scratched his head, "You're right, Christine. I guess I'm just a bit nervous."

Christine understood. After all, she was nervous when she first learned about Quentin's influence.

"Let's grab some food and sit over there," she suggested.

"Sure," Duke agreed, heading off to get some snacks.

Just as Christine was about to follow, she felt an arm wrap around her waist. Turning around, she met Dailey's slightly teasing gaze.

"Shouldn't you be thanking me?" he murmured.

True enough, gratitude was in order for the assistance received.

"Thank you, Mr. Clarkson. How about I treat you to dinner?"

Dailey leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper only they could hear. "I only accept thanks in bed."
