He wanted them to go on, but seeing that he was not in good spirits, several of them did not hurry to speak about other things.
Ariella looked at him and said after a silent moment, "There is indeed another thing that is rather special."
"What is it?"
David sat up with a glint in his eye.
A look of listening to gossip.
Ariella, with a slight twinkle in her eye, put a pillow behind him and said, "You have a girlfriend."
David froze and asked, somewhat surprised, "I have a girlfriend? Who?"
"Nancy," Ariella said back in a light voice.
David frowned and asked with some suspicion, "Nancy? Mom, are you telling the truth? When did I fall in love with her?"
For as long as he can remember, Nancy has been the one his own mother set up.
But he did not have any feelings for her, so he kept a certain distance from her.
How did he suddenly become his girlfriend?
"David, you already had a crush on Nancy. Don't you remember, one time you got drunk and bullied someone, so she became your girlfriend."
Without blushing, Ariella filled David's head with non-existent facts.
David's brow knitted tighter.
He struggled to think, but couldn't remember anything.
"Mom, I don't remember that happening."
Drinking and losing your virtue?
But he's always been clean.
"Just because you don't remember it doesn't mean it didn't happen."
Ariella continued: "David, Nancy is a good girl. When you had the accident, she cried until she almost fainted several times, but I talked her back. So don't let her down. When you recover, find a good day to marry her."
Want him to marry Nancy?
