Chapter 113
Zion frowned and was about to argue back. But seeing how pale Flora looked, he just swallowed his words. “Fine.”
Downstairs, everyone was gathered in the garden hall, where they were playing cards.
“Oh, everyone’s here?” Zion said as he strolled over, trying to appear casual.
Angela shot Alan a look.
Alan raised an eyebrow, stood up, and walked up to Zion. “Hey, we’re playing cards. Come join us.” He was an outgoing guy who wore his heart on his sleeve, and everyone knew it.
Thus, Zion didn’t suspect anything. He naturally reached out to pat Alan on the shoulder.
The tiny needle hidden in his ring was so discreet that a simple brush was all it took to get the job done.
But when his hand was only a few inches away, Alan suddenly let out a yelp and fell flat on the floor.
Seeing someone as tall as him drop so abruptly was quite a sight.
“What happened?” Angela asked.
Alan stood up, grimacing. “I think something jabbed me.”
Zion’s expression changed.
A second later, Alan grabbed him and muttered, “There’s something off about this ring of yours. It must have pricked me.”
Panic set in as Zion realized he’d been found out. He hurriedly tried to pull his hand away, but Alan was faster. He yanked the ring off, causing Zion to wince in pain.
“That’s my ring!” Zion blurted out.
“Yes, it’s yours. It’s got poison inside. You’re trying to hurt people!” A voice rang out from a short distance.
It was Flora. She stared at him icily, looking like a completely different person.
Zion looked at her in disbelief. “Flora, what are you talking about?” His expression was innocent, but there was a flicker of threat in his eyes.
Flora ignored him. She walked over to Alan and took the ring. She twisted it slightly. Then, she slapped Zion hard across the face.
“You bitch! Are you crazy? How dare you harm me!” Zion roared. He felt a sharp sting. He knew he was done for.

“Serves you right,” Flora snapped, glaring at him coldly. “You filthy brute, you got exactly what you deserve!”
Everyone was stunned. In their eyes, Flora had always been gentle and quiet, like someone who hardly knew the ways of the world.
“Y–You…” Zion pointed a trembling finger at her.
Before he could finish, he started to wobble and collapse. He quickly reached out to steady himself against the wall, but his vision blurred, and he couldn’t make out the faces in front of him.
Still furious, Flora forgot all about her stomachache. She pummeled him with her fists and feet, letting out a string of curses.
