Chapter 130 

Bill’s face looked particularly grim. At a time like this, he could only summon his authority as Angela’s father. 

“We already said this was just a misunderstanding. We were worried about you when the news of your accident reached us here. 

“You have no idea how upset we were and how we barely held it together to give you a… Ahem! Now that you’re back, there’s no need to dwell on this, is there?” 

Angela’s smile remained. “Sorry, but I’m someone with great luck and a long life ahead. By the time you two ascend to heaven, I might still be alive and well. So, there’s really no need to worry about me. 

As soon as she left, the couple smashed everything in the mourning hall in frustration and disappointment. 

“I told you we should have waited until we got the body, but you wouldn’t listen. Now look, we’ve utterly embarrassed ourselves!” Sighing heavily, Bill glared at Judy. 

Feeling aggrieved, she retorted, “It was that stupid doctor who swore it was true. I was trying to strike while the iron was hot! Now that it’s come to this, what else can we do?” 

“Enough.” Zack didn’t want to listen to any more of this. “Angie hasn’t been treating you two badly, has she? How could you treat her like this? This is just too much!” 

Judy looked shocked. “When did you start siding with her? You idiot, she’s not even in the same boat as us!” 

Zack’s pale face turned even paler. In the end, he ran upstairs and slammed the door 

behind him. 

On their way to Bamford Manor, Angela sent Finn a message, thanking him and offering to treat him to a meal some other day. 

However, Finn didn’t seem to take it to heart, sending her two cute cat emojis and asking how she had been feeling these past two days. 

The two exchanged messages, and as the conversation flowed, Angela’s discontent seemed to gradually fade. 

“We’re almost there. Put your phone away.” Dexter’s cold voice suddenly sounded beside her, causing her back to stiffen and the smile on her face to freeze. 

Nonetheless, she didn’t say anything in response–there was simply no need. 

Before they even got close to the house, Fiona’s sharp, scolding voice rang out in the distance.

Standing outside the door, Angela could feel her heart gradually sink 

She had never seen Fiona lose control like this. Just hearing her voice was enough to feel her pain and resentment. 

Her response made sense. Who could endure finding out that their husband had an affair and that the illegitimate child was already so grown? 

Dexter’s expression also darkened. He stood there silently for a long time before striding into the living room. 

Angela followed closely behind. 

The living room was a complete mess. Cups, fruit bowls, and cushions were scattered across the floor.
