The room was empty except for Zion, who was engrossed in a video game on the large screen.
“You’re here. Take a seat. My friends left earlier. They had something to do,” Zion said without looking up, his focus completely on the game.
Nora sneered at his carefree behavior. “All you ever do is play games. Don’t you think it’s time you got a job? You can’t rely on others forever, can you?”
To Nora, Zion was nothing more than a lapdog who made money for her to spend. Now that he couldn’t even do that, he was of no use to her.
But he was handsome. He was a true pretty boy and was easy on the eyes.
“Alright, I get it,” Zion said, setting the controller down and turning off the game.
He walked over and sat before Nora, wrapping his arms around her.
Nora frowned, feeling irritated. “You stink, so don’t touch me.”
“Come on, we haven’t been close in days. Let me kiss you,” Zion said, taking advantage of the
moment.
He pulled her into an embrace, his lips moving closer to hers. “I gave up on Flora for you. You’d better appreciate it and not let me down.”
Nora was about to push him away but stopped herself. He still had some use, so she decided to keep him around and continue manipulating him.
“What’s so great about Flora?” She wrapped her arms around Zion’s neck and leaned in. His looks and kissing skills were undeniable, often leaving her breathless and lost in the moment.
Their lips were just about to meet when suddenly, the door crashed open.
A tall figure strode in, silhouetted by the light.
It was Stephen.
He was usually gentle and elegant. He was always kind to Nora, despite knowing she could be competitive and less than perfect.
Yet, at this moment, he felt like he had been betrayed.
“So, this is why you’ve been ignoring me these past few days? You went and found yourself a new lover? Nora, how could you do this to me?!”
Never before had Stephen been so furious.
“Stephen, it’s not what you think, let me explain,” Nora stammered, her heart pounding in fear.

She instantly wanted to push Zion away at the sight of him, but he refused to let go of her.
“Nora, do you think you can fool me?” Zion snarled, gripping her wrist tightly, his eyes burning with fury.
Nora’s heart dropped. She’d messed up.
She tried to play both sides, but it backfired.
