Love and Devotion No Longer His to Claim (Angela and Dexter) novel Chapter 159

A middle-aged man stood with his back to her, holding a glass in one hand while his other hand reached toward the black stockings of a female employee's skirt.

Sensing something, the female employee spun around abruptly. The glass shook in her hand, spilling hot water over the man. He yelped in pain, stumbling backward, barely managing to keep his balance.

"Hey! What are you doing? Are you trying to burn me?" the man yelled, his indignation flaring.

Angela stood at the door, her gaze fixed on the man. She recognized him instantly.

It was Hector Zander, a friend of Nora's, visiting the Graham Group for potential collaborations. Rumor had it that he was interested in launching a major project. The woman nearly harassed was none other than Yvonne, Angela's new assistant.

"You were clearly about to touch me. How dare you—" Yvonne started, her voice shaky.

"What nonsense are you saying? Don't slander me! When have I ever laid a finger on you?" Hector shot back, interrupting Yvonne.

Yvonne caught sight of Angela from the corner of her eye and rushed toward her, tears welling up as if she had just found a lifeline.

"Mr. Zander, you did try to touch her. I saw it, even if you didn't make contact," Angela said coldly, showing him no respect.

Hector's expression turned to one of disbelief. He stared at Angela, stunned.

"Angela, are you out of your mind? How dare you accuse me of such a thing?" Hector's voice was full of fury as he marched toward the door, confident there was nothing she could do to him.

Yvonne's face went pale. "Ms. Graham, forget it. Let's just go back."
