Dexter sighed lightly. "Your dad arranged for her to stay in the same neighborhood as Judy, though it's a couple of buildings apart."
"I can't believe it." Angela laughed bitterly in anger. "Doesn't he worry about being found out? Judy's not exactly a submissive person. If she finds out, she'll tear him to pieces."
"There's also a paternity test report," Dexter said indifferently, picking up a document. "With this, you can go directly to Bill and make demands. I suggest you ask for shares, starting with 20%."
"But as far as I know, Bill only owns 60%. Will he really give me a third of that?" Angela was so overwhelmed that she could barely think clearly anymore.
Dexter placed a hand on her shoulder, speaking each word with determination. "I'll go with you. Even if we have to use threats or persuasion, we'll make sure to get it."
The next morning, Angela got up early.
In fact, she hadn't slept all night, and her eyes were swollen, dark circles heavy beneath them.
"You're about to go to battle, and you look like this? Useless," Dexter remarked casually, sitting at the dining table, eating leisurely, his eyes flicking over her exhausted appearance.
Angela ignored him, sitting down at the table, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't bring herself to eat.
Fiona quietly studied the two of them, unable to figure out what was going on, but she was curious. Usually, if Dexter had spoken like that, Angela would have shot back with a retort, but today, something felt off.
"Where are you two going?" Fiona couldn't help but ask.
"We're going to take Bill's life," Angela replied, pouring herself a glass of milk.
She wanted to drink it, but found it hard to swallow, so she placed the cup back down.
Fiona nearly choked. "What?"
She was so surprised that she stood up. "You can't be serious! No matter how much you hate him, he's still your father."
