Unfortunately for Judy, Bill spat at her before she could finish speaking.
The spit landed squarely on her face, leaving her stunned and her cheeks burning hot. When she realized it was saliva, the revulsion nearly drove her insane.
"Go… Get out!" Bill roared, his voice hoarse from rage. He was utterly infuriated. These people were already ready to tear him apart when he wasn't even dead yet.
He wasn't some rotting carcass, yet they were acting like a flock of damned vultures!
"What's with your attitude? Don't forget—your life is in my hands. If you don't want to cooperate, fine, go rot in your grave!" Judy sneered, any lingering feelings she might've had for Bill now entirely gone.
"Mom, what are you shouting for? You haven't even asked me about the current situation. Dad's already been detoxed—thanks to my brother-in-law! You really are being too much right now." Zack finally spoke up from outside, unable to listen any longer.
"What?" Judy froze, her body stiffening as she turned around, eyes wide in disbelief. "What did you say? He's better now?"
Zack spread his hands nonchalantly before shrugging. "Of course. You poisoned him—why would he give you any shares? Naturally, the shares went to Angie and Dexter. If you're done here, you might as well head home."
Angela watched this scene unfold, somewhat surprised.
Was Zack always this calm, or had he simply grown accustomed to the madness of his parents?
"You ungrateful brat! Did you hit your head too hard? How could you keep siding with an outsider? You keep acting like she's close to you, but what has she ever done for you? Nothing!" Judy was almost hysterical, grabbing Zack hard as if she wished she could have given birth to a better son.
"Mom, are you crazy? Do you think I don't know what I'm doing? Do you think I don't know who Angie and Dexter are? Why are you so unreasonable? If you strangle me to death, who's going to take care of you when you're old?" Zack hid behind Dexter, firing back without restraint.
Judy fainted from rage.
The aftermath was that Judy was confined by Bill, her exact location unknown.
In any case, she wouldn't be out anytime soon.
On the drive back, Dexter broke the silence. "Dr. Osborn said your dad's health is in pretty bad shape. Even with the antidote, he'll need to be on medication for a long time, and he'll never fully recover to his pre-poisoning state."
Angela was stunned. "What? But I thought the poison was neutralized."
