Even Dexter himself couldn't explain why he instinctively wanted to avoid Angela's gaze.
Was he afraid she'd find out he was here?
Rocky fumbled to roll up the window, only to realize that Angela hadn't even spared them a glance. She got into her car and drove off without hesitation.
Rocky couldn't help but feel that Dexter was overthinking things.
Angela had left alone and headed to the hospital to check on Andrew.
At a time like this, she wouldn't allow herself to be caught in a scandal. Too many people were watching her, waiting for her to slip up so they could seize the opportunity to attack.
Andrew had suffered a sudden heart attack. Luckily, the people around him had given him a fast-acting heart medication, so by the time he had reached the hospital, he had already been out of danger.
But he refused to leave. Instead, he insisted that the doctors exaggerate his condition in front of the assistants who had accompanied him.
"She's heartless! Mr. Graham has worked tirelessly for this company all his life, and the moment Angela takes over, she starts targeting the loyal veterans. Absolutely ruthless!"
"Exactly! How can someone like her be our CEO? If Graham Group is left in her hands, it'll fall apart in no time."
"If only she'd just get lost! Graham Group would be so much better without her. Who knows what the old CEO was thinking, letting an incompetent woman like her take over?"
Inside the hospital room, complaints filled the air. They were loud enough to be heard throughout the hospital.
Standing outside the door, Angela naturally heard every word.
