Angela stood up slowly, maintaining her smile the whole time. She looked at Andrew quietly like he was a clown.
Andrew's expression shifted as he stared at the secretary. He approached her, took the ballot from her, and quickly flipped through the votes.
To his surprise, over 40 out of 63 people had voted for Angela, and he even recognized some of the handwriting immediately.
Jordan and Logan used to follow his lead, and he knew their handwriting very well. One was elegant while the other one was bold. Now, it seemed those two had switched their votes to Angela. He wondered why they had changed their minds.
Andrew cast a fierce gaze at Logan, who instantly averted his eyes. He was too intimidated to meet Andrew's eyes.
Logan was clearheaded and smart. He knew he had upset Andrew and Sean in yesterday's meeting. Before he'd left, Angela had warned him to work hard and avoid using his status for personal favors. She had assured him that his future would be bright if he did that.
Logan had been following Andrew for a considerable period, acutely aware of the many people who criticized him and dismissed him behind closed doors.
He had long sought to change the existing circumstances but struggled to find the right moment.
Fortunately, Angela's timely guidance had provided him with the clarity he needed. With just a moment of reflection, Logan had made up his mind.
When Andrew cast a questioning look at Jordan, the latter averted his gaze expressionlessly.
He was more anxious than anyone else in the room. Angela had a firm grip on him, and with such significant leverage, he dared not make another mistake.
