Love and Devotion No Longer His to Claim (Angela and Dexter) novel Chapter 248

Even though the staff member had been caught red-handed, Rocky had only caught her. Elena believed that he didn't have any right to accuse her so blatantly.

"What do you mean by this? There are so many people here. Why are you showing this to me specifically?" Elena's gaze turned icy; she locked eyes with Rocky as if he had committed some unforgivable crime.

Rocky remained unfazed. Meeting her stare head-on, he said calmly, "Ms. Carrey, we have irrefutable evidence. Are you sure you want to deny it?"

Elena's breath caught in her throat. Looking at the undeniable proof in Rocky's hands, her heart pounded violently.

How had things come to this?

"I have no idea what you're talking about," she said hurriedly, rushing over to Natalie's side with an aggrieved expression. "Mrs. Bamford Senior, I swear to God I don't know what's happening! I don't even know what I've done to be falsely accused of such a thing!"

Natalie's gaze remained unruffled. She glanced at Elena before withdrawing her hand from her grasp. This simple action showed her complete detachment and clear unwillingness to be associated with Elena in any way.

Elena's heart sank. A wave of panic washed over her as tears welled up in her eyes. "Don't you believe me, Mrs. Bamford Senior?"

"Ms. Carrey," Rocky interjected, "the staff member in the video has already confessed. The person who bribed her was a man named Luke Wright. Mr. Wright and his girlfriend—your assistant—have both admitted that you ordered them to do it.

"You planned every detail meticulously. However, no one can remain loyal to money when faced with prison time. Their statements are consistent. You can't worm your way out of this."

Rocky's tone remained composed, and his words left no room for argument. He had always been a man of few words. This was the first time he had spoken so much in front of so many people.

And with this, he had completely sealed Elena's fate.

Just then, Fiona arrived too. She had rushed over straight from work. In fact, she had been in the middle of a meeting when she had seen the news on her phone. She had left straightaway without even explaining anything to her colleagues.

"Angela!" She walked right in and hurried to Angela's side to check on her. "Are you alright?"
