Chapter 27
“Angela, you’ve gotten quite bold,” Dexter remarked with a hint of amusement as he looked at her.
“If you keep sending this snarling dog to provoke me, I can be even bolder, “Angela replied fearlessly, meeting his gaze.
“Leave us,” Dexter suddenly ordered.
Erica was stunned. Did he want her to leave too? But the matter hadn’t been resolved yet!
“It looks like you’re having a good time here. Is the master bedroom not comfortable enough for you anymore?” Dexter asked.
Unexpectedly, he seemed to be in a good mood. However, the look in his eyes was more of a mocking one.
“It’s never been comfortable,” Angela retorted as she plopped onto the couch.
She accidentally pulled at the wounds on her arm, and it caused her to hiss in pain. Erica had clawed her arm so hard that it had left bleeding scratches.
“Serves you right,” Dexter said with a scoff, glaring at her. “Who told you to be so difficult all the time? Now you’re getting what you deserve.”
“Get lost!” Angela still had a lot of anger
pent up!
Oddly enough, Dexter didn’t feel as angry as he had expected when he looked at her lively expression. She seemed a lot more interesting than she had before.
He had previously thought she was dull and lifeless. This was mainly because she used to only show a glum expression and had been too much of a pushover.
Now, she was much livelier as she fought back. She even dared to point her finger at him and scold him without any qualms.
“Come on, let’s go back to the master bedroom. I’ll let this slide,” he said, grabbing her arm to lead her out.
But Angela refused. There was a comforting, delicate scent at Donna’s place that put her at ease. It was unlike the detached, icy atmosphere back in the master bedroom.
“I’d rather die than go back!” Angela declared resolutely.
But in the next second, her vision went black, and she fainted.
Dexter quickly caught her and carried her in his arms while barking, “Get the doctor!”
The news of Angela fainting from anger quickly spread throughout Bamford Estate. It became a hot topic of gossip.

Chapter 27
“Hey, did you see? Mr. Bamford looked quite worried–he carried her back to the main building right away.”
“Could it be that the two of them are just bickering and we’re merely bystanders in their game?”
“People say Mr. Bamford doesn’t care about her, but I’m beginning to think they’re actually pretty close. At the very least, they have an interesting married life.”
When Angela regained consciousness after being administered a drip, she overheard the two maids whispering about her right by her side. Coincidentally, she heard their whole conversation.
“You’re overthinking it,” she croaked, her voice hoarse.
