In the following days, Angela kept trying to get past everyone who was trying to stop her and hurry back to work.

Unfortunately, her biggest obstacle was Fiona, as Dexter was currently fully focused on investigating all the suspicious leads regarding her recent incident.

Angela's period cramps had passed, and her complexion had gradually improved with daily rest and care. Fiona was worried Angela would get bored staying in the hospital, so she often took her out for short walks.

Many people had come to visit her during this time, but today, two unexpected guests arrived—Ursula and her daughter, Cecilia.

"How could something like this happen? I really wonder who could be so wicked as to harm someone like this." Ursula sighed. "Angela, do you think you might have offended someone in the past? Could that be why they are harming you like this?"

Angela lazily leaned against the couch, cradling a cup of peppermint tea in her hands and taking slow sips.

"I don't know either. Dexter is already looking into it. I'm sure we'll have answers soon."

Cecilia suddenly pointed at the bracelet on Angela's wrist while gasping in admiration. "Wow, Angela, your bracelet is rather beautiful! No wonder Trevor picked that one out for you."

Angela was startled for a moment. "Grandpa was the one who gave me this bracelet."

"Yes, Grandpa gave it to you, but that day, Trevor was the one who gave it to Grandpa. I overheard their conversation outside the door—Trevor said he went to great lengths to acquire it from an overseas auction and that it was very expensive.

"He wanted to give it to you as a gift to make it up to you for something. He thought you wouldn't accept it from him, so he asked Grandpa to give it to you instead," Cecilia said in a tender, airy voice with a hint of childlike innocence.
