Chapter 41 

If Angela could get a divorce, that would be a huge relief. Three joys all at once. It was definitely worth celebrating. 

“Fine, let’s get a divorce!” 

Dexter’s mind buzzed. The feeling of losing control over his prey flooded his mind. 

But what had he just said? How could he agree to this so easily? 

“Alright, don’t go back on your words!” Angela’s heart raced with excitement. 

She called the butler, Winston Hendrix, out. “Draft the divorce papers immediately. I don’t want anything–just a clean break!” 

“You’re that eager? You want to go running to Callum so badly?” Dexter ground his teeth. His voice was cold and filled with venom. 

If this had been before, his tone and demeanor would have made her believe he still had feelings for her. She would have been ecstatic. 

But now, looking at his grim and chilling face, Angela felt nothing but weariness deep inside. 

“Think whatever you want.” Scoffing, she sat down on the couch and offered him a casual smile. “Mr. Bamford, don’t tell me you’re in love with me now, are you? Why else would you keep refusing to divorce?” 

“What a delusional dream.” Dexter’s emotions were on the verge of erupting. “Angela, even playing hard to get has its limits.” 

Angela was speechless. 

What a ridiculous assumption. If she ended up hanging herself one day, he might still thi….. that she was swinging on a swing. 

“Tell me the truth, Angela. What exactly are you trying to achieve here?” Dexter suddenly stepped forward and grabbed her shoulders. He was clearly trying to suppress his anger. 

“Alright.” Angela sighed deeply. “I’ll say this one last time, so listen carefully.” 

She jerked his hand off her. A look of disgust crossed her face. “I, Angela Graham, do not love you, 

Dexter Bamford. It’s as simple as that” 

for any sign 

Dexter froze. His body stiffened as he stared at her. He tried to search her eyes of a lie. But she stood before him, calm and resolute, meeting his gaze without a hint of 

retreat. 

His mind suddenly flooded with memories.

“Dexter, I’m in pain. Please, let me off this time. I’m not feeling well today. Let’s do it another day.” 

“Mom’s asking us to have a baby again. Dexter, can I stop taking the pills this time?” 

Countless times, she had been the one to humble herself, to beg for his love. 

But now, the woman before him stood tall, cold, and detached as she watched him silently. It felt as though she was mocking his shock. 

Dexter sneered coldly before turning to instruct Winston to call in the legal team. 

Angela remained seated. Upon hearing his words, she seemed genuinely pleased. 

Dexter’s chest tightened. He ripped off his tie and paced around the living room before returning to stare at her. 

“Angela, once we divorce, don’t think you’ll get a single penny from me.”
