Angela was taken aback when her thoughts escaped her lips. She froze and gave an awkward chuckle.
"Well… um... no matter how handsome they are, they're nothing compared to you. You're way more attractive. You're..."
Dexter was visibly upset and glared at her. "Shut up! Stop going to places like that in the future!"
Angela pouted but had no choice. She could only agree for now to calm his anger.
Afterward, the two of them headed to Azure Club together. They arrived half an hour earlier than scheduled. Yet, to their surprise, Austin was already there, casually sipping his drink in the booth.
He wore a black shirt and radiated an understated allure. The gold-rimmed glasses lent a touch of intellect to his sophisticated presence, while his graceful and composed movements further enhanced his charm.
Just by sitting there, he attracted countless glances from other patrons. Some bold women even walked up to ask for his number, only to be met with a cold, piercing gaze that sent them retreating immediately.
Angela lingered behind him for ages, too intimidated to approach. Meanwhile, Dexter had already slipped into the booth next to Austin's, appearing as if he were intent on eavesdropping.
"Since you've arrived, why not come over?" Austin turned his head and cast a fleeting glance at her, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes.
His voice may not have been loud, but its deep resonance had a magnetic quality that commanded attention, allowing Angela to hear every word distinctly.
She shuddered involuntarily and hesitantly stepped forward. At his gesture for her to sit, she obediently took the seat across from him, like a well-behaved schoolkid.
To Angela, Austin had always resembled the man at the top of the pyramid. He was formidable and strikingly aloof. She could barely remember a time when she'd seen him smile.
Back when she'd been learning painting and design under Genevieve's guidance, she'd often wondered how anyone could be stricter than her. Yet, Austin had proven her wrong. At that time, he'd been nothing short of a living nightmare for her.
