Chapter 51
Dexter had come here for business. Yet, midway through negotiations, he walked out, leaving Lucas Cullen behind without explanation or concern
“Mr. Bamford, Mr. Cullen is still walling upstairs. We=”
“Get out,” Dexter cut Erica off coldly before she could finish her sentence.
Erica froze for a moment, but she knew Dexter’s commands were absolute. Without a word, she got out of the car, only to spot Angela slumped in the passenger seat, her face alarmingly flushed.
She thought Angela’s ability to keep a man like Dexter wrapped around her finger Was remarkable. Erica needed to think of a new approach.
Dexter took the wheel himself. Before long, they arrived at Bamford Estate.
By that time, Angela was completely unconscious. She mumbled softly, but her words were incoherent.
Looking at her pale and pitiful state, Dexter felt a surge of frustration. Yet, he still called the family doctor to check on her.
“M–Mr. Bamford, Mrs. Bamford has been drugged,” the doctor stammered before hastily making his exit.
Angela lay on the bed uncomfortably. Her face was unnaturally flushed, and she shifted her body restlessly, pushing Dexter’s restraint to its limits.
The anger in his eyes faded, replaced by emotions he couldn’t quite define.
By morning, Angela woke with a splitting headache. The sight in front of her made her freeze–it wasn’t the white ceiling of her bedroom at home in Villa Heights. Instead, she, was staring at a face so devastatingly handsome that it took her breath away.
She stiffened, thinking she might still be dreaming.
Just then, Dexter slowly opened his eyes. In his dark pupils, Angela could see her own
reflection.
He was only half awake, and his gaze carried a hint of displeasure at being disturbed. Just as irritation began to show on his face, Angela quickly sat up.
“Why are you in my bed?” she exclaimed.
Then, she froze again, realizing she was completely naked. There were suspicious and suggestive marks on her body.

“No–wait. Why am I in your bed?”
Looking around, she realized she wasn’t in Villa Heights. This wasn’t her familiar green- accented bedroom.
Her flustered reaction seemed to amuse Dexter. He couldn’t explain why, but he felt an urge to tease her.
“Damn, have you forgotten who I am after using me?” Dexter propped himself up, glaring at her with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
Despite his cold and distant demeanor, he had those eyes that could melt anyone when he smiled.
Angela’s mind was in chaos as flashes of the previous night flooded back to her. She recalled Dave trying to take advantage of her at the party and Dexter stepping in to give him a thorough beating.
The drug’s effects had left her clinging to Dexter all night, and she had been surprisingly assertive.
