Chapter 54
Chapter 54
Nora’s frustration reached its peak, and for the first time, she dared to challenge Callum’s orders. As she began to speak, Callum’s piercing gaze locked onto her. It was so cold and unforgiving that it silenced her in an instant.
As soon as Callum left, Angela quickly followed him.
“Mr. Snowden,” she called out.
Callum turned back, his expression now as gentle as always. It reminded her of that moment on the podium, when his gaze had been just as warm and encouraging.
“Yes?” he asked with a smile. His gaze was akin to an older brother’s as he watched his younger sister grow up.
“Mr. Snowden, I’m new here. I don’t have the experience, and I’m not sure if I’m ready for this-” she faltered.
“You’re more than capable,” Callum interrupted. “Someone told me you’re exceptional and that I should look after you. Your ability to win that award proves you’re meant for more than just being an ordinary designer.”
With that, he turned and left, leaving Angela in a daze.
She couldn’t help but wonder who had vouched for her. Who had seen something in her that she hadn’t even recognized herself?
She spent the rest of the day lost in thought, wondering who the good Samaritan could be.
As she arrived home at Villa Heights, the sight that greeted her made her freeze in her tracks. Her cat, Mitsy, was nestled comfortably in the arms of a man, while Dobby, her dog, lay calmly at his feet, wagging his tail.
A rush of anger surged through Angela. “What are you doing here?” she demanded.
She quickly stepped forward, snatched Mitsy out of his arms, and shot a glare at Dobby. The dog whimpered and curled up at her feet.
The atmosphere in the large living room was strange.
Dexter sat casually in her living room as if it were his own, looking at her with an infuriating air of entitlement.
“What’s the matter?” he drawled lazily. “Even we’re divorced, can’t I visit?”
Angela was exasperated by his attitude. It felt like her carefully arranged living room had been completely tainted.
She forced herself to calm down and asked coldly, “How did you get the key to my house?”

Dexter shrugged. “It was as easy as pie.”
He paused for a moment, then spoke nonchalantly, “Anyway, I have something to tell you. I’ve already submitted your resignation on your behalf. Starting tomorrow, you’re not allowed to go to DawnStar Co. anymore. You’ll be staying at home from now on.”
Angela was speechless. Her frustration reached a boiling point. Dexter must be out of his mind.
“What gives you the right to make decisions for me?” she snapped.
She was so furious that it almost made her laugh. Without hesitation, she reached for her phone to call the HR department and explain the situation.
Before she could dial the number, Dexter snatched the phone from her hand. He stared at her and coldly said, “I’ve been patient enough with you, Angela. Don’t push me any further.
