Angela ran into Ursula at the entrance after finishing work that afternoon.
Ursula was waiting for her there on purpose. “Angela, let’s not beat around the bush. I want control of the household. I’ll help you in return if you help me. You know Fiona better than anyone. She’s cold–hearted and unfeeling by nature. She’s made your life hell over the years. You surely haven’t forgotten your suffering, have you?”
Angela had to admit that Ursula was impressive at times.
She had a knack for hitting where it hurt the most.
Angela felt a surge of pressure rising in her throat as a wave of discomfort rose within her, but she kept silent.
“I’ve never understood why Fiona treated you like that back then. You may not be the most capable daughter–in–law, but you’ve been good to her son. Everyone can see that. She shouldn’t constantly be targeting you even for her son’s sake. Doesn’t it make you feel indignant?” Ursula fixed her gaze intently on Angela. Her words were deliberate and
unwavering.
“Aunt Ursula, what are you trying to say?” Angela took a deep breath and suppressed the displeasure rising in her chest.
Damn it! Ursula had easily exposed her scars. How could she stand it?
“Let’s help each other. It’s as simple as that.” Ursula smiled faintly, though her gaze was unwavering. “Mr. Bamford Sr. feels guilty toward you and values you highly. I’ll get what I want if you put in a good word for me. I’ll certainly return your favor if you need anything.”
Angela lowered her head to ponder for a moment, seemingly lost in thought.
Ursula didn’t rush her.
She wasn’t worried about coming to Angela. Fiona and her son had likely been informed of her meeting with Angela by now.
That knowledge alone would be enough to sow discord among the three of them.
Angela would be within her control when the time came.
Ursula was certain she would get what she wanted whether Angela agreed.
“Aunt Ursula, I get it,” Angela lifted her head and smiled as she said.
Ursula felt an uncomfortable pang in her chest.
What did that even mean? Was she agreeing to her proposal or not? She didn’t even give an
exact answer.

“Aunt Úrsula, I’ve got other matters to attend to. I’ll be off now.” Angela grabbed her bag and got up before she left.
Fiona was already sitting in the car and busy working on her laptop.
There had been an issue with Bamford Co.’s endorsement deal recently. A scandal involving the female celebrity had led to her arrest, dragging the brand down with her.
