Dexter’s gaze bored into Angela, his sharp eyes catching a faint whiff of alcohol on her. His displeasure deepened.
“Was dinner supposed to take that long?” His tone was icy. His stare was piercing, almost as if he could see through every secret she tried to hide.
Angela rolled her eyes at him “That’s my business. What’s the matter? Even though we’re divorced, do you
still want to pluck my feathers break my wings, and keep me by your side like some pitiful recluse, only to cast me aside when you tire of me?”
She gave a cold laugh and turned to leave without looking back.
Dexter froze, his eyes locked on her swaying silhouette as she walked away. His throat tightened, an unfamiliar ache rising. For a moment, he recalled the woman Angela had been before their marriage–a fiercely independent individual.
Back then, when she insisted on marrying him despite his objections, he had laid down one condition: she must abandon everything and stay home as a housewife. Without hesitation, she had agreed.
But now…
News of Angela dining with Simon and taking photos with Callum quickly shot to the top of trending searches. Her name became a legend in the design world.
No one could believe how a previously unnoticed figure could rise to such prominence in less than two months, reaching heights every designer dreamed of. Angela’s success also brought tremendous benefits to DawnStar. Companies, including WestJet Design, scrambled to collaborate, hoping to bask in her newfound glory.
When Angela returned to the office, she was met with an enthusiastic reception.
“Wow, Angela, you’re amazing! I’m running out of ways to
say it!”
“From now on, Angela is my goddess. I’ll start every day by worshipping her!”
“Angela, you’re incredible–definitely the best department head ever!”
The overwhelming compliments left Angela slightly taken aback, unused to such adoration.
Clara leaned close and whispered, “I heard the company’s planning to reward you with 500 thousand dollars. Is it true?”
Angela blinked in surprise, but before she could respond, the morning meeting began.
Callum convened a company–wide video conference, but the entire design department gathered in the main conference room. Unsurprisingly, Angela sat at Callum’s side, front and center.

Chapter 911
Nora’s simmering resentment was impossible to conceal as she glared at Angela from a distance. “How does she always get so lucky? It’s unbelievable!”
“Nora.” Alan teased her with a sly grin, leaning in. “Be careful of what you say. One more word, and I might make sure everyone hears it.
Nora’s face paled. She snapped at him, “What’s it to you? Did you forget who you were groveling to like a lapdog back the
“Wrong person,” Alan quipped, smirking. “I’ve never groveled to anyone.”
Clara chimed in, lowering her voice. “Nora, Angela’s on a roll right now. If you’re planning trouble, maybe pick a better time. Don’t risk her suggesting to Mr. Snowden that you be shown the door.”
“You-“Nora’s face flushed with anger as she glared daggers at Clara. “Just wait and see!”
“Just wait and see,” Alan mimicked in a mocking tone, exchanging a high–five with Clara.
Meanwhile, a ceremonial assistant stepped forward, presenting the 500 thousand dollar reward to Angela.
Callum personally handed her the check in front of everyone, marking the moment with a photo that immediately rocketed to the top of the trending charts.
