The operating room was buzzing with activity as medical personnel flurried from one end to the other. “The blood is here!”
“Proceed with the blood transfusion!” someone ordered.
The corridor was empty when Gerald and Isadora arrived outside the operating room. Isadora even grabbed a pastrami sandwich on her way to the hospital in case Angelina was hungry.
“Ches, where are you? Don’t tell me you’ve disappeared at a time like this!” Isadora said incredulously into her phone.
“I’m inside the operating room,” came Chester’s brisk reply.
“The operating room?” she repeated in surprise.
“There are some complications, but don’t tell Dad. You should go and see Mom; she passed out after seeing all the blood,” Chester said.

“Stop the patient’s bleeding! Bring it down!”
