While juggling multiple daily responsibilities, Ms. Wenlocke’s advancing age caused a slight unsteadiness in her movements. In a momentary lapse, her sleeve accidentally swept the room card the secretary had just placed on

the table into the gift bag.

“Alright, Ms. Wenlocke.” Unaware of the missing room card, the secretary left with the gift bag.

After a moment, Ms. Wenlocke finally remembered the room card and searched her expansive office desk but

could not find it.

“Didn’t the secretary mention a room card for me? Where is it?” she mumbled to herself. “Forget it, I’ll stop looking. I’ll ask the secretary to get another one later.”

She thought to herself, Well, the hotel is under the Titan Group, and there’s certainly no shortage of room cards if I

need another.

Meanwhile, the secretary presented the three gift bags to Shane and his companions. “Mr. Murphy, this is for you.”

Complimenting Shane, she remarked, “Our general manager, Ms. Wenlocke, commended you for being young and promising. Please wait a moment. She’ll be joining you shortly.”

“Haha, thank you! Ms. Wenlocke has exceptional taste!” Shane responded confidently.

The secretary appeared somewhat overwhelmed by him, contemplating the capabilities of M&L Group.

She thought to herself, The two female assistants seem decent, but the person in charge comes across as a country boy. What could his unique talents be?

Despite her musings, she maintained a composed demeanor, offered a smile, and left without speaking her thoughts aloud.

The trio eagerly unwrapped their gifts, expressing their delight.

“Wow, Titan Group is incredibly generous! They gave us such expensive gifts!”

“Yes, mine is an iPad worth a few hundred dollars!”

Lola and Lily exclaimed, comparing the values of their distinct yet equally valuable presents. Shane swiftly revealed his gift-an iPhone 14 Pro Max worth a thousand dollars!

“Wow, Shanny, your gift is amazing!”

“Yes, we’re so envious!”

The two women had started using more affectionate nicknames for Shane. Their eagerness to please him intensified if he successfully completed the mission.

Shane couldn’t help but grin upon hearing their compliments. However, his joy was short-lived when he found a

“What’s this?” Shane asked, feeling a subtle tremor.

Lola chimed in, “Shanny, this is a room card.”

Simultaneously, Lily exclaimed, “Wow! It’s a room card for the presidential suite!”

After the two women helped him confirm the card’s authenticity, they let out a collective sigh of amazement.

Lola and Lily exchanged glances, and their internal thoughts echoed. This kind of room costs a few thousand

dollars for one night! The implication is obvious!

Shane scratched his head in confusion and asked, “Why did Ms. Wenlocke give me a room card? Is she worried that I won’t sleep well tonight?”

Lola sighed and replied, “Shanny, you’re intelligent but a little too naive. This is an unwritten rule in the workplace.”

“What?!” Shane exclaimed, his thoughts racing. How on earth could I accept an unwritten rule like this? No way! Absolutely not!

“I know this tactic,” Lily stated with confidence. “In business negotiations, exchanging a room key can imply an expectation of sexual favors before finalizing the deal.”

Shane’s confusion deepened. He wondered, Ms. Wenlocke is already fifty-nine. She’s divorced and has three sons.

The youngest son is even three years older than me. What’s going on?!
