Love at the Wrong Table (Emmanuel Lowe and Mackenzie) novel Chapter 431

Chapter 431

As Beatrix rushed to the front of the Maserati and saw Mackenzie’s sharp

gaze, she quickly covered her mouth and wondered if she had done

something wrong again. Did Emmanuel still not know Mackenzie’s true

identity?

Emmanuel wasn’t as foolish as they thought. He immediately chuckled and

said, “Actually, I should have figured it out long ago. When my mother and I

went to apply for a job at Terence Group, we got hired easily. It turns out

we’re family!”

Beatrix stuck out her tongue at him. She did not praise him for guessing the

truth but instead teased him. “You dummy, you only realized it now! You

almost drove me crazy!”

Mackenzie no longer concealed it and snorted coldly. “Now that you know I’m

not inferior to Claudette, do you still want to find other rich and beautiful

women outside?”

As soon as she mentioned Claudette, the atmosphere changed.

Emmanuel immediately became serious and said, “Ms. Quillen, you can

dislike me and even divorce me, but please don’t humiliate Claudette and

  1. Furthermore, don’t make baseless assumptions about our relationship!”

Mackenzie finally found Emmanuel today and even stood up for him

forcefully, so she was originally quite happy. However, she didn’t expect that

her casual teasing would cause him to change his attitude so suddenly.

As the CEO of Terence Group, when had it become his turn to lecture her with

such a stern expression?

You’re repaying kindness with enmity!

Emmanuel didn’t care about Mackenzie’s icy expression and continued

sternly, “Claudette and I have never done anything to wrong you, and she’s

already dead. Please stop saying such things! If you think I wanted to be with

you for the money, I’ll leave now!”

After speaking, he opened the car door and prepared to get out.

“Hey, Emmanuel! Don’t go!”

Beatrix was really angered by how stupid Emmanuel was and quickly

stretched out her hands to stop him. Standing up for her sister, Beatrix said.

“Do you have no conscience? Do you know how much effort and resources

Mackenzie spent to find you? She just stood up for you, and now you want to

turn your back on her because of a joke?”
