Darren waited for the both of them to leave the office before he continued to

mock Emmanuel. He even deliberately set the scene up for the rest of the

nurses in the hospital to look down upon him. In short, he continued to pile

onto Emmanuel’s misfortunes.

Emmanuel did not know why Darren despised him so. In fact, it should be the

other way around. That was because Darren snatched Milani away from him,

and he deliberately used the ward incident to humiliate both him and his

mom.

Unbeknownst to him, Darren had always been jealous of his luck with women.

He knew that Ms. Lenoir had always been infatuated with Emmanuel. Now

that she was dead, and the Lenoir family hated Emmanuel’s guts, he was

Just when Emmanuel was about to retaliate, somebody stopped Darren in

his tracks instead.

“Mr. Gomez!”

The crowd fell silent the moment they saw the respected hospital director

approaching them. Darren was beside himself with shock when he saw the

director. Could it be that he wished to protect Emmanuel even though he

knew that the Lenoir family was trying to suppress him? Didn’t he know that

the Lenoir family still held a certain portion of shares in the hospital?

Mr. Gomez ignored Darren and walked directly toward Emmanuel. “It’s such a

shame, Emmanuel! In reality, Beacon Hospital needs a talent like you around.”

Mr. Gomez’s recognition of his talents made the crowd, who had looked down

upon him previously, blushed with humiliation.

Darren gritted his teeth in anger. That was because he had never had his

talents publicly recognized by the director before this.

“Thank you for your nod of recognition,” Emmanuel replied with a smile.

Mr. Gomez sighed and said, “Owing to the rules and regulations of this

hospital, we could not keep you in your current job. If you wish to find a job in

other hospitals in Yeringham, perhaps I could write you a recommendation

letter.”

Mr. Gomez was certain about Emmanuel’s skills. In terms of acupuncture and

the art of traditional medicine, Emmanuel was far more experienced

compared to him. Moreover, he also believed in his character as a person.

Emmanuel would never hide behind a woman’s skirt. As such, he refused to

know if it was a deliberate attempt, but the moment he was about to leave,

they came over and said sarcastically, “You won’t be able to leech off

women in the future. So, you better buck up!”

“He won’t be leeching off anybody. If he cannot find a job soon, I am afraid he

will starve before he can do that!”

After mocking Emmanuel, Darren turned around and headed back to the

hospital.

Unexpectedly, however, a few luxury cars stopped in front of Emmanuel just

as Darren was about to leave.

“What the f*ck?! What’s going on?” Darren and the rest of them were shocked

and stopped in their tracks.

On the other hand, Frederick and the rest of them were filled with

anticipation.

Darren couldn’t help but frown. Obviously, he never expected anybody to

come to the hospital to look for Emmanuel.
