Love at the Wrong Table (Emmanuel Lowe and Mackenzie) novel Chapter 451

Chapter 451

“There’s no need to be overly concerned about the Lenoir family’s matters. As

long as you and Ms. Mackenzie are fine, no one will dare to harm you.

Moreover, the Quillen family will ensure you have a promising job opportunity

arranged for you!” Alfred intended to soothe Emmanuel’s anxiety, as he

understood that offending the Lenoir family in Yeringham was something

only a few dared to face.

Unexpectedly, Emmanuel was momentarily taken aback and responded

firmly, “I’m sorry, but it appears there has been a misunderstanding!”

“Huh?” Alfred was slightly taken aback.

Emmanuel responded earnestly, “Boing with Mackenzie has no connection to

the status of the Quillen family in Yeringham. I’ve never considered relying on

her or her family for my livelihood. My feelings for her are genuine, and that’s the reason I want to be with her. That’s all there is to it!”

“Uhl” Alfred was utterly taken aback, realizing that his previous remarks had come across cis somewhat insulting toward Emmanuel. Like many others, he

had succumbed to a common cognitive bias, assuming Emmanuel was

using his relationship with Mackenzie to advance himself and benefit from

her wealth.

With Emmanuel earnestly refuting him, he offered an apologetic smile. “Mr.

Lowe, I sincerely apologize!”

Surprised by his apology, Emmanuel nodded graciously and exited the car

upon reaching the Yociam Residence.

“Emmanuel, you don’t have to pick Ms. Mackenzie up today. She’ll be escorted

home,” Alfred told him.

He glanced back, displeased with the constant interference and obstacles in his relationship with Mackenzie. “Mister, I’ll handle the matter with Mackenzie myself. How we handle things should be our discussion. What do you think?”
