"Well, can you do something to make her better?" Spark asked, looking dejected while staring at Molly. The doctor looked him straight in the eye.
"It's hard to say at the moment. It mainly depends on the patient's mood and living environment." He, too, glanced at the sleeping Molly.
"What about the baby?" Spark asked.
The doctor approached Molly's bed to look her over. "She most likely knew about her pregnancy. Since she arrived at the hospital, her hands had always been on her belly. Subconsciously, she is protecting the child. The truth is Miss Xia's condition would have been worse if not for the baby," he told Spark.
"You mean to say her condition will become worse if something bad happens to the baby?" The question made him pause for a moment, as he thought of the repercussions should Molly lose her child.
"That's possible," the doctor nodded. "But it's hard to say what will happen next."
Acknowledging the words with a nod, Spark expressed his thanks to the doctor. Once they were alone in the room, he looked at Molly, his face tired, and his expression upset. He wondered what happened to Molly in the last two months.
"Spark, who is she?" Sophie suddenly asked. She looked defiant, and her question demanded an answer.
Spark rolled his eyes in disgust without Sophie seeing it. He hated her patronizing manner and was bold enough to show it. "She is my girlfriend!"
"What?" Taken aback by Spark's reply, she stared at him. "Manny said you were single."
"I'm sorry. It's my private affair," Spark replied casually. "Princess Sophie, thank you so much for what you've done for me today. One day, I'll be sure to pay you back for all your help."
But only one thing registered in her mind. "Oh my God! You have a girlfriend?" She sounded incredulous and still could not believe what she had just heard. Princess Sophie was a very proud woman. She fell in love with Spark after watching him perform at a concert. She'd been trying her best to get close to him, and it thrilled her to learn he was single. Then he dropped a bomb by saying he had a girlfriend!
As she thought about this, Princess Sophie could not wait to leave the ward immediately. Spark's admission was too hard to believe, so she turned around and stormed out of the ward. When she met Manny at the door, she couldn't help but throw him a furious look, which puzzled Spark's agent.
