The elevator arrived at his floor and stopped. Mark got out and hauled the violin in front of their hotel room. Standing on tiptoe he entered the code to unlock the room. As soon as the door was unlocked, he padded inside silently to check if his parents were home. After making sure that there was no one in the room, he hastily dragged the violin into Spark's room. Sighing happily, he went back to the receiving room and sat down on the comfortable sofa. He was relieved to find that Molly and Spark had not yet returned. He retrieved his hastily scribbled note and tore it into pieces and threw it in the trash. After that, he sat back down with a smile of satisfaction. He was feeling proud of himself for accomplishing the task that he had set out to do. Especially, without his dad and mom knowing that he left the hotel. What an accomplishment indeed!
Just as Mark was silently rejoicing, the news came on and the TV reporter was talking about Spark and Molly. Out of instinct, Mark paid attention to the news. He listened carefully to what the reporter said about his parents. His face gradually turned pale and his eyes widened in shock as he listened to the report of what has transpired last night. Shaking his head, he couldn't believe a word of what the TV reporter said about his parents.
Meanwhile, at Garden In The Air.
Spark was hugging Molly, who was crying like a baby with her face pressed tightly on his shoulder. In between sobs she asked, "What should I do, Spark? What am I supposed to do? I don't want to leave Mark. I can't bear to be separated from him. Please don't let that happen!"
Spark tightened his arms on Molly and clenched his teeth. At the very moment, there are no words that could comfort Molly and him for that matter!
Mark was Brian's son! That means…
Spark thought deeply and couldn't help but bite his teeth nervously. The gnashing sound of his teeth could be heard even by Molly. His voice sounded strained as he assured Molly, "You know I will do everything to keep you and our son with me. Even if I have to give up everything, I will do so. You and Mark will never leave me!"
Molly was too far gone in her despair to understand what Spark was saying. His words were just a blur in her mind. She didn't know what to do. She was scared of what might happen next. The only thing she knew was that if Brian really wanted to get the guardianship of Mark, there was no chance that she would win against him. All the odds were against her...
"Little Molly, I could help you!"
Suddenly, Eric's words flashed in her mind. She hastily tore free from Sparks embrace and wiped the tears from her face. As Spark looked at her with confusion, she said, "Spark, I have something important to do. If I didn't come back after a few hours, you and Mark eat first. Don't wait for me to have dinner together. I might be a while."
