Upon seeing Saoirse's breakup announcement, Georgina immediately called Julian to confirm the news.
However, it was as if Julian had vanished into thin air. There was no response from him.
This had never happened before.
Feeling uneasy, she sent him a few more messages.
Seven or eight hours passed, and still, she didn't get a reply. Growing impatient, Georgina deliberately sent Saoirse a surprised emoji.
"Did you and Julian really break up? What happened?"
A reply came through five minutes later.
"I'm studying abroad in Flenca. It's going to be exhausting, being in a long-distance relationship. That's why I ended it."
A bright smile bloomed on Georgina's face as she read those words, and her eyes gleamed with joy.
Now that they had broken up, Julian would stay by her side, and she wouldn't have to scheme to break the couple up anymore.
Although this was what she was thinking, the message she sent back was full of feigned regret.
"I honestly thought you two would make it in the long run. It's such a shame that you broke up. But I get it. Julian can be hard to deal with, given his personality. He doesn't get close to anyone other than the few friends he grew up with. You must've had a tough time these past few years. Anyway, good luck with your studies abroad!"
Seeing Georgina's passive-aggressive message, Saoirse simply replied with a short "Thanks."
Not wanting to waste any more time on someone no longer in the picture, Georgina grabbed her phone and headed straight to Julian's house, only to find he wasn't there.
She couldn't help frowning as she stared at the closed door.
Where on earth was Julian?
She was so eager to see him that she booked a private room at a nearby teahouse and waited for him.
That wait lasted over ten hours. She even took a nap.
It was the next morning when she finally caught sight of Julian. She hurried downstairs and followed him until she finally caught up with him at his front door.
