Love beyond the mask (Whitney) novel Chapter 293

Whitney was absolutely flabbergasted. Hearing Ludwik's words, she was so infuriated she could barely contain herself, her body trembling slightly with rage.

What right did this man have to influence her Sammy, telling him not to call her "mom"?

He had only been a father for mere minutes.

"Ludwik, he's my son too, and you have no right to claim him! Give him back to me!"

Her concern for her son made her lose control, her voice frail and choked with emotion.

She tried to catch Sammy's eye, hoping the little guy would understand and quickly get away from this dangerous villain.

Sammy was usually so sharp, but why wasn't he getting it now? Whitney felt like stomping her feet in frustration.

Ludwik was furious, his demeanor so threatening that Whitney could almost see "a custody battle" written all over his face.

"Whitney, your audacity is truly eye-opening. Is there anyone as heartless as you? He's your son? You've got some nerve claiming him."

"Why wouldn't I? After carrying him for nine months, we share the same blood."

Besides, she had raised him with hard work, and this man hadn't spent a day fulfilling his fatherly duties. He had even wanted to abandon the child!

He had no right to forcefully take him away.

A rush of grievances and anger welled up in her eyes, turning them red.

Seeing him firmly holding onto the child, as if to snatch him away, she lost all reason and charged forward, "Let him go, he's my child, he won't recognize you, you're not taking him away."

"Irrational woman, I think you're shameless and insane," Ludwik said, lifting the child high.

In front of this towering man, Whitney seemed utterly petite.

She tried to reach for her son on her tiptoes but couldn't even come close to Ludwik's shoulder.

"You're despicable, Ludwik, snatching a child in broad daylight."

"I'll return those words to you," Ludwik retorted coldly. She had abandoned the child under a bridge three years ago.

Now, seeing him safe and sound, did she suddenly feel maternal?

This heartless woman, did she know there was another child buried deep in the cemetery, whom he dared not visit often?

A deep pain flashed through the man's dark eyes, his voice icy, "In this matter, I will never forgive you, Whitney. Unless..."

'Jacky' came back from the dead.

But that was impossible...

The man coldly smirked, "You think you can fight me for custody? Go ahead and try, see if you don't end up hurting yourself. Or maybe, you'll be wise and give up on him."

Ludwik placed his son on his shoulder, "Let's go!"

"Daddy! Mommy, you guys..." Sammy cried out, but the adults' voices and anger drowned out his small voice.

For the first time, Sammy realized just how deep the misunderstanding between his mom and dad was.

They didn't only not know he and Danny were two different kids; they were also deeply afraid of the other taking him away.

Ah, this...

Sammy felt a headache coming on, seeing his mom's distressed and anxious face, his heart ached for her.

Just as he thought of struggling down, his dad, after making a harsh statement, didn't give him any chance and just walked away with him.

"Mommy..."

"Daniel, are you mad? Don't you think your dad has feelings too?" Ludwik scolded his son, obviously jealous and upset.

Sammy: "…"

Why did his dad seem so wronged? What exactly was the misunderstanding between his mom and dad back then?

He was really worried, but now, he was definitely going to be mistakenly taken back by his dad.

His mom must be secretly crying in the restroom, frantic with worry.

Sammy quickly thought, feeling helpless. He immediately texted Danny from his wrist communicator: Danny! It's urgent, leave your house and go to mine! We're being forced to switch! Hurry up!

After sending the message, Sammy pondered, Danny definitely couldn't be exposed in the mansion.
