Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 260

Shutting off the water, he wrapped himself in a bathrobe, and in the moment before the shadow could press against the door, he quickly twisted the knob and pulled it open, bumping right into Millie who'd sneaked up.

"Who let you in?!"

Fury was brewing in his eyes like an impending storm.

"I've told you, you're not allowed in here. Can't you understand?! Where do you get the guts?!"

Feeling the icy chill emanating from him, Millie's limbs went cold, "I-I came to bring you coffee."

He smirked cruelly, his words cutting deep, "What do you think you're doing? You think I'm clueless? Just because we've hung out a few times, you think you're important? I've seen plenty of women like you—just a wave of my hand and they come running like dogs. What makes you any different? Even if you stood naked in front of me, I wouldn't spare you a second glance."

Murray looked down on her, his gaze filled with contempt. "You know why?"

Millie was trembling all over, covering her ears, shaking her head frantically, "No... I don't want to hear, please stop—"

"Can't bear to hear it? Then don't bother me. I find it disgusting. Get out!"

In tears, Millie ran away.

Murray carelessly knocked over the tray she had brought.

That night, Millie laid awake until dawn, her pillow soaked with tears, haunted by his heartless and cold demeanor.

Why? She was pregnant with his child; shouldn't he be treating her better?

Or was it... that his heart was still set on Roseanne, wishing to rekindle their old flame?

With this thought, Millie couldn't stay in bed any longer. In a fit of rage, she kicked over the nightstand.

Early next morning, when Sadie had just finished cleaning the master bedroom, the mess of spilled coffee and broken pieces on the floor disgusted her!

Then she heard a crash from the next room, leaving her bewildered.

What's with these people? So annoying!

A whole family of drama!

Isn't a worker's life valuable? She wished she could hand them a mop each!
