Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 298

Sadie turned around, her smile blooming instantly. "Would you mind taking care of Murray for me? I'm beat. I'm heading to bed."

With that, she gracefully exited the kitchen.

Sadie was puzzled. "What's going on?"

Wasn't there usually a fight over who got to bring the hangover remedy?

Why the sudden change of heart?

Sadie poured half of the hangover soup into a bowl, placed it on a tray, and carried it to the master bedroom.

Murray hadn't drunk much today, but he skipped dinner, causing his stomach to start aching faintly.

Just as Sadie arrived with the hot soup, he didn't refuse and gulped it down in one go.

Sadie left the room with the empty bowl and tray, carefully closing the door behind her.

Murray lay in bed, eyes closed, waiting for the discomfort in his stomach to subside.

After some time, his stomach felt better, but his body started to heat up.

He was about to get up and lower the air conditioning when suddenly, the door to the master bedroom was pushed open.

Millie, barefoot, approached the bed and looked at the man who had apparently passed out drunk, a smile playing at her lips.

He must be feeling hot; his top buttons were undone, and a soft blush colored his cheeks.

His strong, well-defined arms hung over the side of the bed, made even more prominent by the dark shirt he wore today. The shirt added an aloofness that made him appear more intimidating.

Millie remembered their first night together.

Murray was just as drunk then, mumbling another woman's name, Roseanne.

Her gaze lingered on his slightly unbuttoned shirt and the visible contours of his neck, stirring something within her. She leaned closer, her fingers lightly tracing his chest, hinting at a downward movement.

Suddenly, Murray shifted, turning away from her.
