Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 378

"Why are you staring at me like that? Hurry up, I'm dying of thirst here!"

York resigned himself to his fate and got up.

After gulping down a glass of ice water, Leda finally felt revived.

"Did you need something from me? Sorry for making you wait so long... it's kinda embarrassing."

While York was in the kitchen refilling the pitcher, Leda had already gotten dressed and even checked the time.

Oh boy, it was already 11 o'clock!

"Embarrassed? You, Ms. Reynolds, feel embarrassed? I think you're quite proud of yourself!"

He was like a balloon pricked with a pin, barely holding it together before, but now all his pent-up emotions burst forth.

"And you have the nerve to boss me around to get you water? You think you're all that, why don't you just fly to the moon then?"

He muttered a curse under his breath after his rant.

Leda frowned. "Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Why the temper?"

"Aren't you going to explain the guy from this morning?"

Leda looked puzzled. "What's there to explain? Do you explain yourself every time you're with another woman?"

He was taken aback. "But... I mean, we're dating now, right? Doing this, where does it leave my dignity?"

Leda's gaze grew even more perplexed. "Correction: fake boyfriend, thank you. Besides, it's not like I did anything with anyone else in front of others. How does it affect your dignity?"

"We agreed on certain terms before this partnership, right? To each their own?"

"I've followed the contract to the letter, haven't I? What's your deal?"

York was speechless, utterly defeated by her logic. It was so frustrating!

Leda looked around the room. "By the way, you've got a nice hotel here. Keep this room for me, will you? I'll be back."

"!" She's planning a next time?!

"Oh, and could you call the front desk for me? Have them prepare another key card."

"For what?"

"One for me and one for guests, obviously!"

She really wondered if he had drunk his brain dumb the night before.
