Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 450

Leda was at a loss for words.

"Ah, such a shame."

"No worries," Leda said with a slight smile, "a broken phone can be replaced, a lost SIM card can be reissued. After all, my number hasn't changed, so staying in touch isn't an issue."

Most of the time, they were the ones reaching out to her anyways.

Leda rarely made the first move.

After all, she could always find someone new at the drop of a hat, so why bother with the old?

York was shocked. Oh, he hadn't thought of that before.

Leda snatched her broken phone back, "Touch my stuff again, and I swear I'll break your hands, believe it or not!"

With that, she stormed out of the living room.

Her ride had already been arranged; she didn't need anyone's help, just leaving was enough.

York hurried after her, "It's just... I thought your phone number was a bit unlucky, what with all those 8s. How about we get you a new one? Something flashy, all 6s, how does that sound?"

"8s are unlucky?" Leda rolled her eyes, genuinely thinking this guy was not right in the head.

"Haven't you heard of the 18 levels of hell?"

Leda rolled her eyes at him. "Just shut it, will you? Don't pester me!"

With that, she ignited the engine, released the handbrake, and zoomed off, leaving York hopping mad behind her.

"You woman! You have no idea how good you had it! The VIP numbers I collect are never for outsiders, you know?!"

Too bad, no matter how loud he yelled, Leda couldn't hear him.

And even if she did, she'd only scoff at him.

Upstairs, Katrina and the housekeeper stood on the balcony, watching the scene below with amusement.

Melba hesitated before speaking, "Ms. Reynolds doesn't seem to pay much attention to our young master..."

"That's for the best," Katrina said, arms crossed. Having just finished a spa treatment, her skin was glowing, and she exuded an air of lazy luxury. "These men, the easier they get something, the less they care."

"They think women should throw themselves at them. Actually, the less attention she pays, the more he's interested."

Katrina turned to her, asking, "Melba, do you know what that's called?"
