Love Burned, She Rose Unscathed novel Chapter 709

Murray didn’t have the time to worry about Grace's feelings, nor did he pay much attention to the bowl of oatmeal on the table.

He was in a foul mood, and after finishing his work, he finally shut down his laptop.

That’s when he noticed the bowl of oatmeal sitting next to him.

The oats were cooked until they were creamy, filling most of the bowl, with bits of cranberries and nuts sprinkled on top. It was better prepared than anything Millie had ever made for him.

He realized he was a bit hungry. As he picked up the bowl, he noticed it was still warm, intending to just take a few bites.

But the moment he tasted it, he froze.

That flavor...

He glanced down at the oatmeal, his expression suddenly complex.

It tasted just like Roseanne used to make it.

Murray found himself momentarily stunned, feeling as if he was back in time, with Roseanne still by his side.

When he went downstairs, Grace hadn’t left yet.

She was sitting on the couch, engrossed in a book. The soft light gave her an aura of calm and quiet elegance, a sense of peace that didn’t demand attention.

Hearing his footsteps, she looked up, her previously calm eyes lighting up with a hint of surprise and joy, though she quickly masked it.

“Finished with work?” she asked, setting her book aside and standing up with a smile.

Murray nodded, as if casually asking, “Did you make the oatmeal?”

“Yes, I did. How was it? Not to your taste?”

“Thanks for making it. Was it your first time?”

“Oh, I’ve made oatmeal before, just simple ones with maybe some berries or apples. But this was my first time adding so many ingredients. It was a bit more effort, but it’s supposed to be good for the stomach, you know.”
