Owen Reynolds didn’t see anything wrong with closing the door because, well, he was about to do the same.
“Wait… what are you doing?” Silver abruptly grabbed the doorknob.
Owen looked puzzled. “Aren’t you heading back?”
“I haven’t even left yet and you’re closing the door?!”
She said this so loudly, it was hard to tell if she was questioning Owen or just venting her frustration to the universe.
Owen was bewildered. “But you’re just about to leave, right? If I don’t close the door, all the heat will escape.”
Silver was speechless.
“Drive safe on your way back. The roads are slippery with all this snow.”
With that, he handed her the bag and shut the door behind him.
Silver was so angry she almost stomped her heels into the ground.
These people, honestly!
Even her own son!
Might as well have had a roast beef sandwich instead!
…
Roseanne’s foot was on the mend, but just to be safe, she planned to get it checked out at the hospital.
After packing her bag, she headed out and bumped into Owen Reynolds.
“Where are you off to?”
“Just a follow-up at the hospital.”
They went downstairs together, crossed the street, and Roseanne headed for the garage to get her car.
It was a new car, and she wasn’t entirely comfortable with it yet. She almost scraped the car next to hers while pulling out.
Thankfully, Owen’s quick warning saved her from a fender bender.
Yesterday, when she bought the car, she’d only driven it a short distance before letting Owen take over. He’d even parked it in the garage for her.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, she awkwardly rubbed her nose. “Sorry, I haven’t driven much since I got my license.”
Owen quickly locked his car and walked around to her side, opening the passenger door and hopping in.
Roseanne looked at him, puzzled. “What are you doing?”
“You’re not that confident yet, and I’d be worried if you drove alone. I’ll go with you to the hospital and help with your driving skills.”
