Summer looked up at him, “What?”

“What?” Fraser’s lips curled into a teasing smile as he deliberately lowered his voice, mimicking her delicate tone, dragging out the words to bewitch her.
Unable to resist, Summer burst into a beautiful smile that instantly lit up the interview studio.
Biting her lip playfully, she glared at Fraser, deliberately holding back her words.
Fraser’s eyes deepened as he slowly leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. Their lips barely touching, he whispered, “I’ll let you off for now, but once we’re married, I want to hear you call me ‘husband‘ every day.”
“You’re so bossy. Let go of me. Everyone’s watching.”
Summer punched his chest lightly, pulling away slightly; she could feel many burning, gossip- hungry gazes stuck on them.
Yet, this man seemed oblivious. Noticing Summer’s flushed cheeks, he finally let her go.
Fraser extended his hand elegantly, his voice sexy and gentle, “Let’s go, my dear.”
His hand, pale and sculpted like a piece of fine art, reached out to her.
It seemed to carry a special ceremonial sense, like a warm and firm promise. Summer paused, warmth flowing into her heart like a spring, spreading quickly to her limbs.
After a moment, she slowly lifted her hand and placed it in his broad palm.
Fraser held her hand, small and barely filling his grasp.
Then, as he interlaced his fingers through hers, he led her out under the watchful eyes of the
crowd.
At the door of the interview studio, Lucas saw the couple walking hand in hand and departing.
He lowered his lashes, hiding the fleeting shadow of sadness in his eyes, and turned to leave.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Trevor standing a few feet away, radiating a ‘keep out‘ chill. Trevor, feeling a probing gaze, looked up.
The eyes of Lucas and Trevor met briefly in mid–air, both filled with indiscernible darkness.
Trevor, with a cold expression and an annoyed tone, said, “What are you looking at? I’m not like you; I had her once.”
Lucas‘ normally gentle eyes turned frosty. “Is that so? But at least I’m her friend, and you are
nothing‘

The words hit Trevor hard, as Trevor had been trying to move on from Summer. She didn’t love me anymore! Was I so spineless to still cling to her? That wasn’t me!
But when a friend accidentally mentioned her, Trevor realized all his pretenses were just lies.
Trevor’s voice was icy, “What good is being a friend? Watching her walk into another man’s arms is worse than not seeing it at all.”
Indeed. Lucas had to admit that seeing them together was painful!
But he just wanted to see if she was happy.
If she wasn’t, a greedy hope would surge within Lucas, wondering if he could comfort her.
Lucas chuckled weakly, his smile lacking strength. “We’re both laughing at each other from a distance of fifty steps. In the end, aren’t we both losers to Fraser?”
Trevor scoffed, “I hope Fraser treats her well. If he doesn’t, I’ll definitely take her back.”
Lucas looked again in the direction they had gone, now empty.
