Chapter 538 Clear Up Misunderstanding
"Savanna, that ring was indeed given to Lilia, but it was not given by me."
Brandon seized the opportunity and quickly explained.
"The ring was custom-made for her by Finn.”
“Then why is it kept by you?" Savanna was very puzzled.
In general, a ring, whether for proposals or for engagements, was very important. It was usually kept by the couple rather than someone else.
"It's a long story. To put it simply, I'll help them keep it temporarily.”
Noticing that Savanna was still very suspicious, Brandon took out his mobile phone and dialed Finn's number.
Brandon got through very quickly. The minute Finn picked it up, Finn urged, "Are you done? After you nail your wife, hurry up and come over. The conference will start soon. You have a lot of work to do!"
"Help me prove it. Did you buy that ring for Lilia?" Brandon turned on the speaker and asked while Savanna was listening.
When Finn heard Brandon's question, Finn couldn't help but laugh. "I can't believe you still haven't handled your wife."
"Don't say such nonsense. Answer yes or no," Brandon urged.
To let Brandon tackle his problem with his wife quickly and thus come back to work, Finn helped Brandon. "Ms. Thompson, don't misunderstand. It was me that had people make that ring. It was produced with a special technique in South Africa. There was a capital L inside, and the size of the ring was nine.”
Finn said lots of details, which made his words more credible. Savanna somewhat believed him.
However, she was curious about one thing. "Mr. Orwell, since it's such an important ring, why did you give it to Brandon?”
Finn was silent for a few seconds. Then she heard him laughing.
Finn said with self-mockery, "We broke up. The ring became useless, and I didn't want to throw it away. So, I gave it to Brandon as a favor. I didn't expect you to argue about that."
"It's good that you know,” Brandon said coldly. "You keep your things. Don't give them to me."
Finn felt that he was in the wrong. So, after telling Brandon to deal with the thing and come over soon, he hung up.
"Sorry, Brandon, I misunderstood you." Savanna looked at him apologetically.
"It's also my fault. I should have put the ring away or told you about it.” Brandon sincerely apologized. "Sorry, Savanna, I made you misunderstand.”
"It's okay. You've explained it. I thought you didn't love me anymore.” As Savanna said, her nose suddenly got itchy, and there were tears in her eyes.
She loved him so much that she was afraid of losing him. She, who had been worried for days, finally got relieved at this moment. Savanna put her arms around his waist.
Brandon was still holding the infusion bottle high with his hand while using the other hand to hug her. Putting his hand on her back, he gently patted her like he was comforting a child.
"Savanna, how could I not love you? Listen, everything I've done is for you and our children."
Savanna nodded with her head against his chest. Tears uncontrollably got her eyelids wet.
"What happened with the wound on your face and this infusion bottle?” Brandon asked her with concern. "Is it because you were mad at me? You knew I would be sad and deliberately punished me, right?"
Savanna looked up at him with misty eyes. "After quarreling with you, I had no appetite, causing blood sugar levels to drop."
She was so cute, like a child, which melted Brandon's heart. “It's all my fault. I didn't notice your unhappiness in time."
