Chapter 1 Craving the Warmth of His Embrace

Clarissa Johnson woke up in the middle of the night.

No one would believe her, but she had sex with Damien Lawrence last night.

It was her first time. Despite that, she did not feel much.

The only thing that left a deep impression on her was Damien’s stubble intimately caressing her face. She could feel his breath on her neck and he kissed her ear. Damien’s husky, low voice made Clarissa’s face heat up. He also kept murmuring a name by her ear. However, she could not hear it clearly from the beginning until the end. Nonetheless, Clarissa was unaffected and still thrilled.

At midnight, Clarissa woke up. Damien was still asleep beside her. She glanced at the man’s grim face. For some reason, she felt they had gotten much closer. Clarissa craved the warmth of his embrace. She even had a wild thought of hugging him until she fell asleep. However, Clarissa knew that she would be bringing trouble upon herself if she did not leave at that moment.

Damien Lawrence was New East Corporation’s president and he had sex with an intern, which was Clarissa Johnson. The consequences were obvious. If it was a light punishment, Clarissa would lose her job. Worst-case scenario, she would be accused of seducing the president and her reputation would be tarnished. Basically, she would not be able to continue working in this industry.

Yesterday, the first team-building activity was held. At night, Damien got drunk at night and clung to Clarissa. She helped him get back to his room. Suddenly, Damien kissed her without any warning. Her mind went blank. She wanted to deny him but was dazed and captivated upon seeing his face.

Before this, Clarissa never even had a formal interaction with Damien. After all, she was just an intern.

Clarissa staggered back to her room. She acted as if nothing had happened. It was six o’clock in the evening. A few buses that were scheduled to return to the company stopped at the hotel’s entrance.

Clarissa got on the bus with another intern, Lily Harris. Once she got on, she saw a person sitting in the first row with his eyes closed. She was startled.

That person was none other than Damien.
