Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 146

Chapter 146 He Doesn’t want a Divorce

The moment Clarissa returned from the bathroom, Damien scooped her into his arms and headed straight into her bedroom.

Her heart started beating wildly.

Damien lowered his head to nuzzle into her chest. He kicked the door close, and then threw her onto the bed. Then, he pinned her down eagerly.

“I have dark rings under my eyes,” Clarissa mumbled from beneath his weight.

“So?” Damien stared at her while breathing heavily.

“Please stop torturing me till late hours every night. I have a career to maintain,” Clarissa retorted.

“I didn’t bring any condoms with me today,” Damien whispered into her ear. His breath tickled her earlobe and sent waves of phantom itch across her body.

What he meant was he didn’t mind Clarissa getting pregnant.

He didn’t want to terminate this marriage, as he had decided to view Clarissa as his wife.

“I have some with me.” Clarissa pulled out a new pack of condoms from her pocket.

She had just purchased the pack from the pharmacy.

Damien looked down at Clarissa before a lewd smile stretched across his face. “I thought you were unwilling to sleep with me. It seems you’ve been prepared for a long time.”

Then, he switched off the lights.

Clarissa’s bed had a wooden frame. That bed was quite old, having lasted for many years.

It was a queen-sized bed that was over 180 cm long. It was relatively small compared to Damien’s bed at Hill Villa. Thanks to the size, both of them were very close to each other.

Clarissa was even able to smell Damien’s sweat. He emitted intensely strong masculine pheromones.

It made her heart race and her cheeks to go warm.

After the lovemaking session, Clarissa’s heart felt like it had raced a marathon. She was unable to sleep thanks to that.

“What?” Clarissa tilted her head to look at him. He folded his arms behind his head and closed his eyes while snuggling with her.

“Your dad.”

“My dad?” Clarissa wondered, ‘Could he have known something? Then again, Mom and I didn’t say anything, so there’s no way he’d know anything.’

She continued, “My dad felt that the salary issued by the factory wasn’t enough to maintain the daily costs at home, so he decided to work overseas. In the end, he became a project manager. After that, he got involved in an accident. Anyway, stop asking me questions.”

Damien didn’t pry anymore. The conflicted feelings that consisted of love and hatred engulfed him once more. He didn’t know which emotion was winning; love, gratitude, or hatred?

The next day, Mrs. Cole prepared breakfast for everyone.

“This is as tasty as the food here goes. Please don’t mind the quality, Damien,” Theresa said.

“No worries.” Damien spooned some soup into his mouth, his reply as nonchalant as ever.

Clarissa wondered, ;Hmm… He and Mom seem to be getting along well. It’s as if both of them share some sort of bond.’
